As we kick off 2025, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Posse is excited to share our lineup of thrilling events, community initiatives, and educational opportunities! Whether you’re a seasoned equestrian, a curious beginner, or a supporter of our local community, we’ve got something for everyone. Mark your calendars and saddle up for an incredible year!

Upcoming Events

Friends and Family Game Night
Join us for a fun-filled evening on March 15 from 6 to 9 PM as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! With a focus on adult attendees, we’re planning games, laughs, and a chance to connect with friends and family. This laid-back night promises a pot of gold’s worth of fun—so wear your green and bring your competitive spirit!

Equestrian Educational Classes
Our three-part Equestrian Education Series is in full swing!

  • Part 1: January 25, 1–4 PM — Dive into the world of horse breeds, anatomy, markings, and coloring.

  • Part 2: February 22, 1–4 PM — Explore the world of bridles, bits, tacks, and saddles.

  • Part 3: March 8, 1–4 PM — Focus on nutrition, basic health, and the ABCs of training.

These classes are open to all ages, from budding young riders to adults looking to deepen their understanding. Come learn and share in our passion for horses!

Bunny Showmanship Clinic
On March 15, from 9 AM to 2 PM, Willow Haven and Fort Worth’s Finest Rabbitry will host a Bunny Showmanship Clinic. Aimed at 4-H kids and bunny enthusiasts, this hands-on clinic will help participants build confidence and showcase their furry friends!

Mark Your Calendars

Spring Cleanup Day
Roll up your sleeves and help us get our grounds ready for spring! On April 12, we’ll gather as a community to spruce up the Sheriff’s Posse facilities. Volunteers are warmly welcomed!

Friday Night Lights Gymkhana Series
Launching on April 18 and running every 1st and 3rd Friday through October, our Friday Night Lights Gymkhana Series focuses on horse safety, fun, and education. Whether you’re a competitor or a spectator, these evenings under the lights are not to be missed!

Ag Yard Sale
Got old tack or Ag products you’re looking to sell? Reserve a spot at our Ag Yard Sale on May 24! This is a fantastic opportunity to find great deals, swap stories, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Looking Ahead

We’re thrilled to be working closely with a local nonprofit organization that supports women of domestic violence. Together, we’re planning a spectacular Fall Festival in September, complete with a carnival atmosphere, vendors, and a thrilling bull riding competition. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer!
